Your devoted dog trainer, Mike Thorpe, has been serving Portland area dog owners for nearly 20 years.  Arriving in Portland already with 25 years of experience training dogs, he created Academy of Winning Ways, one of the finest dog training programs ever seen.  
Through his unique approach to canine education he has lead thousands of dogs and their humans on their paths of discovery and success. 

The unique handling techniques and training style created by Mike after many years of experience can be attributed to one thing. The need to create the most effective, fast-acting training methods possible without compromising the emotional state of the dog.

Maggie's life always revolved around training animals.  From writing her first dog training book at just 9 years old to running some of the most innovative dog training classes ever seen, her love and compassion for dogs has only grown stronger.

It was pure fate that Maggie would meet Mike when she was only 19 years old. With an already strong background in 'unconventional' dog training, Mike helped launch Maggie forward, gaining about 30 years of experience in just one short year.   She then relocated to Ventura County California where she took the dog training industry 'by the horns' and created a industry/service standard for local residents and trainers alike. 

The only time Maggie has NOT worked full time as a trainer and instructor in the dog industry has been in the outdoor leadership field. As a challenge course facilitator, leadership developer and a corporate team building instructor she found the 'lost key' to dog training classes.  HUMAN EDUCATION.  Between all the tricks up her sleeves, witty talent and down right entertaining personality, you will see why dog owners are falling in love with her AND learning all at the same time!
